One of my favorite aspects of living in Minneapolis is the amount of incredible restaurants it has to offer. I am lucky enough to work with a lot of couples who feel the same way! Beth and Matt chose to get married with their closest friends at family in an intimate wedding at Alma in Minneapolis. Not only was the food delicious, the vibes of the restaurant and hotel are stunning. Keep scrolling to see more images from their cozy, rainy wedding day.
Alma is a great venue for very small weddings and elopements for a lot of reasons, but especially since the cafe, restaurant, and hotel are all within the same building. You can stay overnight in the hotel, stroll downstairs for a coffee and pastry (or full breakfast), get ready in one of their stunning rooms, and then get married in the restaurant later in the day. All without even leaving the building! When I arrived to photograph details, coffee and pastries were strewn around the room. I knew I had to include them in a few detail shots!
Beth and Matt chose to get married with just their closest friends and family. They were not only present for their ceremony and reception, but helped them get ready for the day. After the finishing touches were complete, they headed down to the hotel lobby for a sweet first look.
After their first look and family photos, it’s time for the ceremony. Alma offers an intimate private dining space for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The space is full of natural light and beautiful decor. It is a perfect space for a cozy wedding.
In spite of the rain and cold, Beth and Matt chose to spend the time immediately after their ceremony outside in the rain for some couples photos. Alma is within walking distance to St. Anthony Main and the Stone Arch Bridge – two favorite photo locations. These spots are usually busy with people, but with the rain we had them all to ourselves.
After running around in the rain, it is the perfect time for an outfit change! Beth heads back up to the hotel room for dress #2 before joining the rest of the party in the private dining room. A multiple course dinner of small plates was served, including garlic flan, seared sea scallops, and garnet yam cake.
As a restaurant and local food lover, this wedding at Alma Minneapolis was a dream come true! Small restaurant weddings are some of my favorites to be a part of. Looking to get married in your own intimate restaurant wedding? Reach out here for more information!
