The Lumber Exchange Center is the oldest building in downtown Minneapolis. It is right in the heart of downtown and has beautiful architectural features. If that classic downtown vibe is for you, you will want to check out this stunning Lumber Exchange Center wedding!
The Fountain Room is nine stories tall and features exposed brick walls and a huge water feature to use as your ceremony backdrop. This space is also used for the dinner and dancing portion of the wedding. The attached River Room is a cozy space for cocktail hour, and also has a getting ready space. There is a second getting ready space just a few floors below with a pool table and beautiful, bright lighting. Having a wedding in these spaces means you can invite up two 280 people for dinner! This room was where Connie and Taysir chose to have their wedding, and I’m so glad they did.
Connie chose to get ready in the space just off the Fountain Room – easily accessible throughout the evening for rest breaks and touch ups. Taysir and his groomsmen had the getting ready space downstairs, and had lots of fun with the pool table! I was able to sneak down there with Connie’s dress for a few photos before the boys arrived.
One of the most iconic spots at the Lumber Exchange Center is the white marble staircase on the first floor. This is where Connie & Taysir choose to do their first look! We also used this space for family photos and wedding party photos. It is a great backdrop to have on hand throughout the day. One of my favorite moments from Connie & Taysir’s first look was when Connie showed off her “something blue” tongue piercing! We also made some time to venture up to the rooftop of the parking garage. This is an area only accessible for couples on their wedding day, and it is stunning for skyline photos!
Connie & Taysir had a super fun wedding party! They had a lot of fun ideas for their photos and kept each other laughing. We took a few group shots on the white marble staircase before heading back to the rooftop. Because how can you not use that amazing view?
Everyone loves a short and sweet wedding ceremony, and that’s exactly what these two had. It was officiated by a close friend of theirs, which is a trend I really love! The ceremony was followed by cocktail hour, dress bustling, and lots of candids for me.
It rained most of the day after our wedding party photos outdoors, but we braved a little drizzle to run around in the rain before dinner. I love the vibes of a couple running through the city streets in their full wedding attire!
Connie let me know from the first time we met that the dance was the MOST important part of the night to her. It definitely comes through in their photos! DJ DotKham played a mix of American wedding classics and popular Arab music throughout the night to keep the whole crowd happy.
Shout out to all of the amazing vendors who made Connie & Taysir’s wedding day so beautiful!
